A Love Poem

Stella
By: Stamatis Kakleas

My dear Stella, your lovely ways have gotten the best of me

From the moment your lips touched mine, I knew it was meant to be

These other typical girls, they can’t compare

To go near them again I wouldn’t dare

You made me sparkle with charm and tingle with confidence

You helped me see beauty and forget things irrelevant

With your hand in mine I can conquer this world

A warm feeling lingers, thinking of you as my girl

You stretch smiles and amplify laughs

But I’ve figured you out …my dear Stella

I’m not special to you; I’m just your next target

You raise me up, drop me down, and you’re quick to forget

I want you to stay, but you won’t be there in the morning

You made me love you with everything then you sent my world spinning

The warm feeling dissipates and the smiles disappear

The excitement fades and my thoughts become clear

When I wake I’m filled with a sense of regret

No matter how hard I try, I can’t get you out of my head

Only time can save me from the pain that you’ve caused

I promise; never again for a girl like you I will fall

This was the last time, it’s over; we’re through

You’re not worth the headache and that is the truth

It was great while it lasted but there is no cure

I’ll never be the same again…my dear Stella Artois

  1. I figured you of all people would have figured me out. You obviously know my choice of beeer lol. I’m actually sipping on one at the moment and its perfectly complimenting my burrito 😀 I give you permission to use it for an ad campaign. when you get stella as a client I expect a year supply. That is all.

  2. ha! this is awesome.. but i figured it out at “You made me love you with everything and then you sent my world spinning.” .. idk why.. it just clicked for some reason. plus i have this bottle of stella here in my room from you..my first legal bottle of beer when i turned 21 from my fav cuz!

  3. It seems like you know Stella and her ways alll to well, you little man-whore. 😉

FYI–I have a love named Stella (my guitar). I don’ think this poem would apply to her though. She’s not as toxic as your Stella can be (in high quantities of course).

PS: Does this still count as a love poem even if its to a beer?

  4. You got me! was saying oh no…..poor kid lol and then …. was good. Good message 🙂
